A dangerous heat wave continues to scorch parts of the Midwest and Northeast, and record-breaking temperatures are expected again today.

New York City could see a seventh consecutive day of temperatures at or above 90 degrees, tying the longest stretch of the decade,

and the longest stretch ever in June. Meanwhile, the sea is expected to hit 100 degrees for the first time

since 2016 this weekend. Heat waves are getting more frequent and intense as the world is heating up from burning fossil fuels, and CNN's Bill Weir explains that authorities could soon change the way they react to them.

Recently, a number of groups, both medical groups, environmental justice, activists as well,

are trying to play with the public in FEMA to consider heat. as a disasters after when you can see the wreckage, FEMA responding there.

They're arguing that this could happen.
