Donald Trump's legal team is trying to block the release of Special Counsel Jack Smith's final report on the federal

investigation into the president-elect. Smith has already dropped both the classified documents

case and election subversion case, but he was still planning to release a report on his

findings. Trump's lawyers have reviewed a draft of it, and their threatening legal action

if it's released. In court filings, his lawyers said the draft, quote, revealed a one-sided

narrative. The House Select Committee's former lead investigator on the January 6th attack,

Tim Haffey, told CNN there's little that can be done if it is made public.

Once it's out, it's out.

Unless they have a judge telling the Attorney General that the report cannot be released

then would be contemptuous for him to do so,

then he immediately could

hit send or could print that report.

A spokesperson for the special counsel's office declined to comment.

It comes as a judge has denied Trump's request to postpone his Friday sentencing for his

hush money conviction, a decision Trump's lawyers are likely to appeal.
