Hello from CNN I'm Joe Beck with the five things you need to know for Tuesday

September 12th. Officials in Libya say at least 2,000 people have died and

thousands more are missing, after catastrophic flooding wiped

out entire villages. Storm Daniel dumped so much rain on the country's northeast that two dams

collapsed, sending water flowing into already in undated areas.

One official described the worst hit city as a ghost town and said as many as 6,000 people are

missing from that area alone. CNN hasn't been able to independently verify those numbers

or recovery and rescue missions are still ongoing.

CNN's Lenny Gyocos has more.

People woke up in the middle of the night when the storm hit, seeing their homes flooded

some say up to three meters and then desperately trying to find a way to get out. So many areas are isolated, making it very difficult for

search and rescue teams to try and figure out who they need to save and what is the next process.

This comes as work continues to help people hit by the massive earthquake in Morocco.

But this emergency worker says some areas have now moved from rescue to recovery.

They confirm there's all the victim in this

rubble is already passed away. State media in the country says more than 2,800 people

have died and more than 2,500 are injured.

North Korea's leader, Kim Jong-un, has crossed over into Russia to meet with President

Vladimir Putin, as the US warns the two leaders could strike an arms deal.

Kim is traveling in a heavily armored train and Reuters has reported that he made a brief stop at a Russian

border station earlier today. Officials haven't specified exactly where a visit would take place, but it's a significant meeting,

coming as Russia desperately needs fresh supplies and ammunition for its war in Ukraine.
