Rescue workers are racing against the clock to save people impacted by natural disasters in Libya and Morocco.

In Libya, the IFC says about 10,000 people are thought to be missing after devastating floods

hit the country and the aid organization said the death toll will be huge.

An official says at least 2,000 people have been confirmed dead, but CNN can't independently

verify that number.

Storm Daniel dumped so much rain on the northeast of the country

that two dams collapsed and the destruction is making it hard for rescue workers to get to people in need, with roads flooded and phone lines down.

Meanwhile in Morocco, some emergency workers are now focusing on recovery efforts,

as hopes of rescuing anyone trapped in the rubble of Friday's earthquake starts to fade.

CNN's Naderbyshire visited a village in the mountains that struggled to get aid.

This is a village which has proven hugely difficult to reach.

We spoke to people there who have been impacted by the earthquake.

They told us that the international rescue teams had only just made it to the village yesterday,

that they had been spending days digging through the rubble of their collapsed homes with their bare hands.

The house is back from its summer recess today and speaker Kevin McCarthy has quite a lot to juggle.

He's facing two big challenges, avoiding a costly government shutdown and addressing growing

calls on the rights to impeach President Joe Biden.

And those two problems could collide, because some House Republicans say they'll only

support a new government funding package if an impeachment inquiry is started, along with

other conditions.

Meanwhile, some moderates in the party are resisted. started, along with other conditions.
