So when you buy auto insurance, it is common that you're looking to shave every dollar

you can from that premium.

And so a lot of people buying auto insurance will ignore one of the most important things

for you to have as part of it.

It's called, although the name may vary by state, the generic name for it is uninsured

motorist coverage.

And what it's for is for two different circumstances that could be very, very vital for you in an accident.

One is if you were hit by someone who does not have insurance, the uninsured motorist coverage

steps in to protect you especially if someone in your vehicle has been injured.

And so it is a protection that's vital because even though industry stats show that the number

of people who are riding around without vehicle insurance is somewhere around 15%.
