Thank you for joining me. I'm just going to say a couple of things for this week, and it's a

holiday week. I know you're all busy. I hope you had a lovely Christmas and that you all have a happy new

year in our expectation of the coming of the Savior Jesus Christ, just getting ever closer.

This week, the curriculum talks about ways that we can connect to the Old Testament. And I don't

know that I've had a big problem

doing that, but it is a daunting book, let's face it. It's more foreign to us in so many ways. And we're

going from the DNC, which was actually written in our dispensation, to ancient stories, starting with

the beginning of the world, as revealed to Moses in Genesis.

So this is certainly a book that can be a little more intimidating. I will say that I'm so

grateful that my parents had these volumes by Cleon Scousin on the Old Testament.

The first 2,000 years is a significant-sized book, not huge, that basically covers Genesis.

And then the third thousand years is a very thick book that is the second volume of the Scousen trilogy on the Old Testament.

And it covers mostly Moses.

I think it also probably includes Joshua.

And then the 4,000 years covers, I don't remember if it starts with judges or right after judges, but from there to Malachi.

So you get pretty much the entire coverage of the Old Testament in a very easy to read. I mean, they're big books, but it's almost like

reading a novel. Scowson makes it very consumable. They're even available on Kindle now, and I made

sure that each of my kids had all three volumes on Kindle at least so that if they wanted to reference things, they're pretty easy to reference, so you don't have to even read them from beginning to end.

I did, and it really, really was a wonderful way to study the Old Testament for me.
