Hi, and welcome to the Five Word Prayers Daily, a five day a week daily devotional where we share the word, prayers, and our heart.

I'm Lisa Whittle, and I welcome you to just five minutes with me, which I trust and pray will be five minutes well spent.

So, parents, this month is dedicated to you. It's sort of a parenting theme month on the show, and this fresh week is all about the spiritual side of things.

I suspect, and by the way, what I hear from you, is that the spiritual lives of our kids,

0:28.2

raising them to grow up and love Jesus, is the most important thing in our lives.

freshman year, he was pretty unhappy for a time. And quite honestly, he wanted to come home really after the first few weeks, but especially

1:30.4

at the Christmas break after that first semester, which is I know familiar to a lot of parents

1:35.4

who have sent their kids off their freshman year of college.

1:38.0

It's just a rough time, kind of.

1:40.3

And everything within me wanted to let him come home after that. I wanted him to be happy.

1:47.1

But more of me and certainly more of my husband, because I find that dads are a little bit better about

1:52.2

this, wanted him to learn and grow and become stronger in the life lesson of sticking to something,
