Hi, and welcome to the Five Word Prayers Daily, a five-day-a-week, daily devotional where we share the

word, prayers in our heart. I'm Lisa Whittle, and I welcome you to just five minutes with me,

which I trust and pray will be five minutes well spent. The show today is for all of us, as always,

but especially for my creative friends who sometimes may worry or feel competitive even when other people put out amazing work,

beautiful words or art, so many talented people out there, or maybe are just in a creative rut

and you aren't sure if the well of creativity has dried up or even for the non-creatives

who want to hear from God but haven't in a while and worry that

maybe he's through speaking to you. Might not sound like they're connected, but they really are.

And I'm going to talk about all of that in just a minute. So hang on.

I have to admit my memory is not that good.

So when I do remember something someone said, particularly like at a seminar or an event

or such, I know it was really something.

That happened to me back about seven or eight years ago, maybe a few less, when I was at

a writing event where an author named Paul Young was speaking, and he said something I've never

forgotten. It was so powerful. Paul wrote a book called The Shack, and it's a bit controversial

for several reasons that we won't get into. Can you believe I've never actually read the book

myself? It's true. But Paul was talking about how when he was writing that book, he was struggling with it,

and I can't remember the whole context of what was going on.

But I do remember him talking about having that thing a lot of us writers have, which is the

fear that the words won't come.

Good old writers block is what we usually call it.
