Hi, and welcome to the Five Word Prayers Daily, a five day a week daily devotional where we share the word, prayers, in our heart.

I'm Lisa Whittle, and I welcome you to just five minutes with me, which I trust and pray will be five minutes well spent.

I'm in the mood today to praise God. You up for it? So many of us are hungry for newness in our life.

We literally crave it. And God is a God who makes all things new. for newness in our life. We literally crave it.

And God is a God who makes all things new.

He says so in his word.

And I just want to focus on that today.

If you're in a place where you need God to do something new, or he's done something new

and you're basking in it, in either place, this shows for you.

Isaiah. in it. In either place, this shows for you. Isaiah 4319 remains a favorite verse of many people,

including me. It says, see, I'm doing a new thing. Now it springs up, do you not perceive it? I'm making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. This whole chapter in the Bible

holds a lot of rich promises for Israel, and of course for us, because the Bible is for us today,

promises like, I've called you by name, you are mine. When you go through the rivers of difficulty,

you won't drown. Don't be afraid. When you walk through the fire, you won't be burned. You are

honored. I love you. I will bring you back. I will redeem you. I will make a way. All kinds of

amazing promise after promise. And then after all that, after he makes all these beautiful promises,

he literally says, but forget all that. Forget all those

amazing things. It's nothing compared to what I'm going to do, verse 18. And then he promises newness.

Because newness, I think, is what we crave, that God would take us to a new and different place

maybe than we've never been before,

to do things that he's never done in our lives before. I believe that's what we all want.

Some of us are in a place of newness right now, and even though it's scary, there's an excitement

...
