I think there's one thing that all of us want, and I'm not sure we ever really feel like we have it. I'm not going to tell you what it is because I want you to think on it for just a minute to see if you come up with it since I suspect you probably will. But I'll

give you this hint. We might not be in a real prison, but emotionally a lot of us feel like we are.

Every time my family drives by a grassy field like rolling hills on the side of the road,

which Charlotte still has some areas like this, not many underdeveloped anymore, but

some out in the country, thankfully, not many underdeveloped anymore, but some out in the

country, thankfully. Every time without fail, I always comment about how beautiful it is and how

I just want to go out there and run in that wide open field. It literally makes no sense because,

first of all, I don't like to run. And second of all, if my husband actually did pull over and let me go out in the

field, I would feel ridiculous actually doing it. My kids tease me about this now, but it's just one

of my things. I love the idea of wide open fields, green grass, throwing my arms out, the

sun on my face, the wind blowing lightly, and freely just

running through it. It's kind of sound of music, right? I'm honestly not sure why this is,

except for the idea that freedom calls out to me, and this wide open grassy field represents

it somehow. Maybe for you, it's not an open field, but the wide ocean. Maybe when you look

out and you hear the waves and look as far as you can see and yet can't see the end, that to you

looks like freedom. Maybe that's why you love it so much. Maybe it's climbing a mountain and the idea

of getting to the top and looking out, that looks like freedom.

I don't know, but what I do know is that humans want to be free and we rarely feel like we are.
