Hi, and welcome to the Five Word Prayers Daily, a Five Day a Week daily devotional where we share the word, prayers, and our heart.

I'm Lisa Whittle, and I welcome you to just five minutes with me, which I trust and pray will be five minutes well spent.

Well, we're continuing the mom series today, but remember, you don't have to be a mom to listen.

And in fact, I know some of you were in on our discussion about

dreams and found yourself really relating whether or not you mother kids. Today's discussion

is similar in that it's universal because we all struggle with our fears. Fears about today,

fears about the great what-ifs, and yes, fears about the future, and for moms, fears for our kids.

We're going to talk about what we literally have to do to manage this tough reality every

single day in just a minute.

You may have noticed in the introduction I just said we would talk about what we have to do to manage this tough reality of living with our fears because I truly believe that though we can make some great strides in getting better about fears, we can possibly overcome some of them.

I also believe that most of the fear we have inside is managed by daily victories,

literally, one day at a time, one victory over a fear at a time. I think the reason we get so

bogged down by fear is we see it in its totality. So we pile all the fears in a heap, and we just sit and look at it all together,

and all together, all the fear is very scary. Instead, we need to give each fear over to God

one by one as they come. This is the way, I think, will manage our fear. So I'm notorious for wanting to solve all the things at one time,

figure out all the solutions for the whole world at one time, and, yes, worry about all the things at

one time. So my husband will often say to me, Lisa, you know you aren't responsible for all of this,

right? And it puts me back in perspective.

It's the same with fear. We can't possibly tackle every single fear we have at one time,

or fear will threaten to overtake us. This is why I believe God says so much about fear in the

Bible because surely he knew this would be an issue for us, a huge issue for us. Just like it was back in the day in the Bible with otherwise

dedicated God-seeking amazing warriors of the faith, they struggled with fear too, so we're not
