Hi, and welcome to the Five Word Prayers Daily, a five-day-a-week daily devotional where we share the word, prayers, in our heart.

0:07.2

I'm Lisa Whittle, and I welcome you to just five minutes with me, which I trust and pray will be five minutes well spent.

0:13.4

So this week is going to be sort of a mom emphasis, but listen, don't automatically turn me off if you're not a mom,

0:19.9

because I'm going to be talking

0:21.7

about issues that are universal to us all. And I believe in all of these we can pull out at least

0:27.9

one nugget to think through and pray about every day. At least that's my hope and prayer always

0:32.9

for this daily podcast. So it would be my great joy if someone who wasn't a mom said, you know, I'm not a mom,

0:39.7

future and my kids and my life, what my husband might look like, what my kids would look like

1:17.3

for sure, I thought a lot about that, what I wanted my house to be and my career to be. I always

1:23.4

sort of wanted to do both to be home and raise a family and also do a fulfilling work, even though

1:28.8

I really had no clue how that would even be possible. And I'll tell you the truth, most of my

1:34.7

dreams didn't really come true. I don't know how that sounds to you or even how that makes you

1:39.9

feel, but it's honest. Some of my realities are pretty different than what I dreamed. For instance,

1:46.2

I dreamed of marrying a doctor, and that never happened. For a while, I dreamed of a real

1:52.1

white picket fence, and so far that's never come true. I dreamed of being an interior decorator

1:57.8

for a while, and at one point, point being a psychologist and another being a lawyer
