Hi, and welcome to the Five Word Prayers Daily, a five-day-a-week daily devotional where we share the

word, prayers, and our heart. I'm Lisa Whittle, and I welcome you to just five minutes with me,

which I trust and pray will be five minutes well spent. I'm excited to talk about something on the show

today that I think a lot of us deeply want, and some even go looking for, but probably more of us desire to have,

but either don't know where to go to find it or feel like we've tried and haven't been

successful in our search. You interested? Keep listening and we'll discuss in a minute.

You know how when you experience something, you all of a sudden notice other people in that same boat, right?

Like you're pregnant and all of a sudden you notice every other pregnant woman or you buy a red car.

And you've never noticed how many red cars there are out there until you start driving one.

And now you see a red car everywhere. I'm sure there's some technical name for this phenomena,

but it's like you notice things for the first time that were obviously already there,

but because you're now looking for them or experiencing them yourself, you've become much more aware.

This is what I feel like has been happening with me as I've

gotten a little older and people have started coming to me asking if I would be their mentor.

Now listen, I'm still trying to make this shift that I'm old enough to be someone's mentor.

And yet I know that now being married 22 years and having a 20-year-old son, I'm in that spot.

Younger moms are coming to me and newer marrieds are coming to me.

And I've now been in the speaking and writing ministry really for almost 20 years in some ways as well.

So people who haven't been in that as long are coming to me.

And mentorship is something I myself

have gone looking for in my life as well. And it seems like now that I'm kind of in this spot,

I'm noticing that it's something we're talking about a lot, or at least I'm noticing it more.
