Hi, and welcome to the Five Word Prayers Daily, a five-day-a-week daily devotional where we share the word, prayers, in our heart.

I'm Lisa Whittle, and I welcome you to just five minutes with me, which I trust and pray will be five minutes well spent.

Friends, I have the biggest treat for you today because we have our first ever guest on the Five-word prayers daily, Mo Isam, a dear friend

and college all-American soccer player, a wife and mommy, a New York Times bestseller, and author

of a crazy good new book called Sex Jesus and the Conversations the Church Forgot, which we'll link in the show notes, and you must go get.

But most importantly to me, a fierce Jesus lover and raw fighter of the faith.

I can't think of another person I would want as my first guest on the show, and in fact,

I think she and I are kindred in many ways, including the way we communicate things, as you'll see.

Mo is going to be continuing our conversation from yesterday on sex, but really, she's leading

out in conversations about sex in the church and well beyond, and I am so grateful for her

voice on this subject.

Jesus, thank you for sex.

I lived a past with a lot of sexual brokenness because I never knew about real sex.

I never knew sex was a powerful gift from God, a weapon against the enemy. I never saw sex as anything

other than this, like, taboo, do this, don't do that, rule list of right and wrong, you know, act.

I never knew it had so much more to do with our heart condition, more so than even our behaviors. It was incredible

when I came to know Christ and suddenly that story in John of the woman at the well wasn't just a bit

of scripture I gleaned wisdom from. I was the whore at the well. I was the one that Jesus met, drummed up my sexual sin, brought

it right in front of me and still remained, still stayed sitting at my well, and in fact

told me that I could have a living water. I would never thirst again. So much of my life I had
