Hi, and welcome to the Five Word Prayers Daily, a five-day-a-week daily devotional where we share the

word, prayers, in our heart. I'm Lisa Whittle, and I welcome you to just five minutes with me,

which I trust and pray will be five minutes well spent. So about social media, how do you view it in

your life? Would you say it's your fun screen time, A relaxing hobby you do on the side? Or is it a way

you stay connected to family and friends and see what's going on in their life? What about if God

wants to use you to be a bold witness for Christ and draw others to him, even if that means you're

being ostracized and face ridicule? Consider that as we take a quick break and come right back.

Sometimes my husband and I will just stop whatever all of us in the family are doing and say,

okay, it's time to put down all of our phones. And it's so crazy because we're literally every one

of us with our noses in our phones at the same time.

Can you even believe it? I mean, I know this dates me, but I would have never imagined this

day when literally every person I know is addicted to some type of device, whether it be a phone

or an iPad or a computer or whatever, we are all a bunch of crazy addicts and it is just nuts.

Elderly people have phones.

Ten-year-olds have phones.

And how many of us have been to a gathering where after dinner or something we're all

sitting around and you look around the room and literally everyone is on their phone?

It has become such a habit for us, hasn't it?

But since it's become such a habit, I'm not sure many of us

stop to think, this is my platform to stand up for the Lord. We've touched on this a little on

Tuesday and talking about our passions online and having a passion to bring people to Jesus,
