Hi, and welcome to Five Word Prayers Daily, a five-day-a-week daily devotional where we share the word,

prayers, and our heart. I'm Lisa Whittle, and I welcome you to just five minutes with me,

which I trust and pray will be five minutes well spent. I hear it every single day. All of us are

talking about it all the time, it seems, how crazy this world is and how we are

fearful about it. And listen, there's a lot of craziness going on in the world for sure. But we're

forgetting something really important, and I want to talk about that today.

Ooh. Ooh. I think a lot of us would quickly acknowledge that God is great and strong and able and say that yes, he is over all the universe fully in charge.

We sing about it, we write about it,

we preach about it, we tell our kids about it. But then when it comes to our everyday lives, we walk around with this sort of fear mentality, nervous, like even our non-believing friends

and neighbors about the state of the world and how we can possibly live in this craziness.

So essentially Sunday, we praise God for being great. And then Monday and during the week,

we meet our neighbor in the driveway and we bite our nails and we discuss that day's news.

Like we don't get it. Like we don't get the whole thing. God, this world, and our place in it. You know,

God recently spoke to my heart one day when I was watching the news and my heart was heavy

over it. And he said this, Lisa, the news changes nothing. It changes nothing about who I am or

what I'm going to do or who's in charge of this whole thing. And he directed

me to the book of Ephesians and more specifically Ephesians I literally read this chapter

almost every day because I need its truth about who God is and what position he has put me in

on this earth. And as a result, how I can now walk with a different level of holy confidence than if I didn't

belong to him as his child.

I have to tell you, I speak on this a lot.

So five minutes is going to be tough because this passage gets me so excited and it makes
