Summary

Does having a referral based business make you feel like you don’t have control when it comes to managing your leads? Have you been feeling like you need to do everything and be on every platform to advertise your business? Or maybe you feel like you need to create a better marketing strategy in order to get that steady stream of clients you need.

Relationship marketing is a great way for service based businesses to build strong connections, come from a place of service and gain consistent client leads from referrals.

This week, Elizabeth Cook, joins me to talk about relationship marketing and how you can use this strategy to get new client leads while also nurturing your current client relationships.

Elizabeth, welcome back to the podcast. Hi, Natalie. I'm so excited you're here. Talk to me about why you wanted to do this episode. Yes. So it was one day I had several calls back to back with new members who are coming into our program. We always have a call as they join the program just to get to know each other. It helps ground me in their business and their goals.

And three in a row, like literally, back to back, when I asked, where do your current clients

0:30.4

come from?

0:32.0

One after the other, they said, oh, well, most of my clients are all through referrals.

0:37.3

And it was said just like this, you know, hanging their head.

your teaching.

0:53.6

And I know you often say like the best source of

0:57.2

new clients is from your current clients. So I knew that you love referrals. And so I thought,

1:04.5

well, this is something we should talk about more. Yes. I think that we just need a name for it.

1:09.0

And there is a name for it and it's called

1:11.0

relationship marketing and that's where business comes to you based on the relationships

1:17.4

you've developed and it can include your business relationships. It can include your personal

1:22.8

relationships. It can include people your meeting on the baseball field, you know, with your kids or the

1:29.3

soccer field or the dance studio. It's really being open to connecting with others and sharing what

1:37.7

you do, but also being a resource for other people. I would say even more it is being out there

1:44.1

and helping other people. And when you are

1:47.3

connected to people, it's just natural that we all want to help one another. And so I love when

1:54.3

people say they have a referral based business. I get so excited because one that tells me that you do really great work and two, that you

2:04.6

are liked by others and people want to help you and that you're known for something as well,
