| 0:00.0 | Hey, everybody, it's Connor Hall, one of the producers here at Wrongful Conviction, |
| 0:08.4 | and I will be curating a list of episodes for the next few weeks, |
| 0:12.6 | offering case updates, behind the scenes, info, and maybe some insights. |
| 0:18.4 | Now, when given this opportunity, a number of people immediately came to mind, |
| 0:23.2 | including Alexis Keerica Martin. If you don't remember, she was 15 years old when the robbery |
| 0:31.0 | of her sex trafficker turned into his murder. Now, I'm sure many folks would be sympathetic to somebody in that situation. |
| 0:40.1 | If they were to be involved in a plot to bring about the demise of their sex trafficker, a child sex trafficker. |

| 1:32.2 | And when this was brought to the attention of Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, |
| 1:35.9 | he granted Kieryrica clemency, putting her on parole in April 2020. |
| 1:41.8 | And about a year later, we released our coverage of her case, |
| 1:45.5 | at which time she was doing speaking engagements, |
| 1:48.3 | as well as a few normal jobs to save her college |
| 1:51.2 | with the plan of starting a nonprofit |
| 1:52.8 | to help prevent human trafficking and support other survivors. |
| 1:57.5 | Now, a year on from that, I can remember it like it was yesterday. I mean, we were at the |
| 2:02.5 | 2022 Innocence Network Conference in Phoenix. We had just wrapped another day of interviews. |
