Summary

Join me in this episode as I reflect on the profound impact of philosophy on my life choices and moral compass. I discuss the importance of introspection in guiding actions and delve into the theme of redemption, exploring societal desensitization to ethical boundaries. Drawing parallels to historical practices and personal anecdotes, I emphasize the influence of societal norms on individual destinies and cultural values. Through introspective recollections, I challenge societal norms, stressing the consistency in moral teachings for a cohesive understanding of ethics. Reflecting on my upbringing, I share childhood experiences that instilled universal values and underscore the enduring impact of early lessons on moral integrity. Don't miss this episode's exploration of personal experiences and philosophical outlook shaped by upbringing, emphasizing the importance of upholding universal values for a harmonious society.

Good morning, everybody, Stefan Moline you from Freedom, Hope you doing well.

0:05.5

So, I do love me that morning time.

0:10.9

A time after I wake up, but before I get out of bed, where I get to doze and explore and think and play with my brain.

0:18.4

And this morning, I was thinking about the life unlived, the optional possible

0:25.1

different life. And it's a wild thing, really. Every now and then I get like almost literal

0:33.5

bone chills when I think about all the different circumstances that had me

0:38.4

leading up to meeting my wife and how my life would have been different if that had not.

0:47.5

Any one of those million butterfly effect things had not occurred.

0:52.7

And I think about what my life would have been

0:57.8

without philosophy, right? And it's a pretty chilling and terrifying thing. I mean, my not

1:09.9

entirely inconsiderable talents would have been put to use

1:15.5

for others, malevolent people. My, you know, fairly decent youthful good looks and speaking abilities and

1:27.4

charisma and so on.

1:29.6

And it was, in some ways, trying to be harnessed by some bad people in the business world.

1:34.2

But that was for me a profit, not direct moral corruption.

1:38.8

But it is an appalling thing to think of what my life would have been like without philosophy.

1:46.9

But I did play that fast forward.

1:50.2

You know, you go back to that fork in the road,

1:54.1

and you play to fast forward in a different direction, right?

1:59.1

Ah, beautiful.

2:01.3

Just beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.

2:02.4

I hope, I hope that you get out into nature
