seen a headline or video, and felt a sudden hot flash of anger? It got you so riled up you wanted to comment,

actually a victim of rage bait? Which in 2025 is Oxford's dictionary word of the year? Seriously.

The definition of rage bait is, it is content engineered not to inform you, but to provoke you.

We see it all the time now on social media, and if the comment feed is live, it can be incredibly intense.

It's all about algorithms prioritizing engagement. What I mean by that is, if someone

posts something and they get a like, that's one point of engagement. But an angry comet war

is 100 points. The system or whatever medium platform you're on is designed to make you feel mad and show you more of it, because it works.
