Summary

Last week I felt frustrated, tired, angry, and to top it off exercise felt like it was taking me 2-3 days to recover from. When I woke up in the morning if felt like lifting a lead weight out of bed, it was horrible, I felt horrible, it wasn't me at all. So a radical intervention was needed. What did I do to get myself back to feeling ME? Listen in.

0:06.5

see if I can make it more awesome. So today I want to talk briefly about being human and not being a machine. And the reason why this has come up is because I've just

taken a week's holiday. A week's holiday at home, which is weird. I've never actually done this in my life, ever, never taken a week at home which is weird I've never actually done this in my life ever never

taken a week at home I've always gone away done something just yeah and because I

really value travel and getting away. I quite often take anywhere between four and seven

0:36.4

holidays a year whether it's the West Country or abroad or the Cotswolds whatever.

1:26.8

on a call and I said guys I need to take a week off I sat down with my wife said I'm going to

1:32.4

take a week off, is that okay?

1:34.8

And basically, talk to the people I need to, to make sure it was okay.

1:39.0

And I just down tools, walked away and had a week off.

1:43.0

And that might seem like a very basic move.

1:47.3

Yeah, you're tired, you're worn out, take a week off.

1:51.0

But when you're sort of into personal development, when you're sort of inter-personal development, when you're into fitness, when you are a productive

1:57.5

person, when you have quite high expectations of what you would do every day and you value output and progress, it can be

2:07.3

hard to take that move and you quite often look for solutions in the wrong places like for example one of my symptoms was not recovering from exercise so I was

2:18.2

Analyzing what I was doing like why am I getting tired? Why am I absolutely nacker the next day? Why does my whole body hurt? Why does my whole body feel like a lead weight? I can't even get it out of bed. And I was analyzing the wrong kind of stuff.

2:33.4

Like, why am I mentally tired?
