by looking at the Great Commission together. Here's this week's Wednesday's work.

Quote, and Jesus came and said to them, all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the

Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded

you, and behold, I am with you always to the end of the age." End quote. Matthew 28, 18 through 20.

How many times have you read those words? How many times have you heard a sermon referencing that passage?

How many missions conferences have you attended that use the Great Commission as its central theme?

Familiarity with the Word of God is a beautiful gift of grace, but too much familiarity can be dangerous.

Familiarity tends to blind our eyes and dull our senses.

What once stimulated excitement or caused conviction might now barely get our attention.

I'm afraid that this could happen with the words of the Great Commission,

specifically as we consider missions and evangelism within the context of our local neighborhood.

So today, let's ask the Lord to spark a fresh excitement for this passage.
