When most of us think about our work life or our family life or our personal life, we're

trying to be the best version of ourselves. We're often struggling and stumbling, but we're trying.

I think this concept of Maslow's hierarchy of needs, this idea of self-actualization, being

the ultimate goal, being the best version that we can be is something that many of us, most of us,

can really hang our code on. The challenge is when we think about the best version of ourselves,

I think a lot of us conjure up images of job titles, social status, property, dollars in the

bank account, and while for many of us, if we were fully the best versions of ourselves, maybe

some of those things would come along, but I think for many of us, if we got rid of the extrinsic

signs of self-actualization and focused on the intrinsic, what really matters in terms of value

being the best version of yourself, not only might those extrinsic things might not be there,

there might actually be not that much at all, extrinsically, that would be in any way apparent that

you had become the best version of yourself. It might not be a 30 or a 50 year journey to get there,
