thank you for listening. We are the founders of a business called Amazing If, and we talk an awful

lot about squiggly careers. And that's based on the idea, really, that careers are changing.

They're not this kind of linear, predictable thing anymore where we can do

these career plans that have those one, two, three year targets in them because actually quite a lot

of the jobs that we're going to do in the future don't even exist yet. And our career is going to be

a lot more squiggly. And the skills that you need to succeed in a squiggly career look a bit different.

expecting somebody now in this context to go, oh yeah, well in five years time, this is what I plan

to be doing and feeling that that is actually a good thing to ask somebody, I feel is actually

really outdated. I think it's okay to ask people about their aspirations and how they want to spend their time. But to go, what's your five-year plan? I'm not going to ask somebody I feel is actually really outdated. I think it's okay to ask people about their aspirations
