this series of morning mindsets that I've done around the book humility. We're finished up this last episode if you haven't

listened to them they've been going since about the beginning of March I think maybe even

the beginning of February talking about humility using the book humility by

Andrew Murray you can find a link to a free copy of the book in the show notes or

the description for this episode and we're going to move on from the book

humility because last episode I didn't

realize was actually wrapping up the last chapter of the book. So today what I want to do is start

walking through some Psalms. If you're like me, the Psalms are one of your favorites.

Something about the way David and the other guys who wrote the Psalms express themselves,

though it's poetic, though it's sometimes full of imagery and symbolism, is very touching, very powerful to my soul. And I find the Psalms

to be a place that I go quite often when I have a need or

I have a particular emotion that I'm feeling and I go to the Psalms because I feel that those guys

can relate to me and I usually can find something very helpful in the

Psalms. So we're going to start today in Psalm chapter one but before we do let's

talk a little bit about the nature of a

psalm. Because it's important for us to understand the kind of literature and the

kind of things we might expect there. Now a psalm, the word psalm in

Hebrew just means song.
