and how to build a business that actually serves your life instead of stealing it. Let's talk about

the freedom myth.

Social media sells the dream.

I think we've all seen it and honestly I've been guilty to some degree of being a part

of it.

The Instagram shots of laptops on the beach, the promise of passive income, the idea that

entrepreneurship is a ticket to endless leisure.

The reality check is that entrepreneurship is still a trade.

You're not escaping work.

You're just changing what you trade for your work.

Instead of clocking hours for a boss, you're trading your time, energy, and stress tolerance

for growth, risk, and upside.

Naval Ravacant, a long-time savant, you could even say on social media, philosopher even,

said, quote, play long-term games with long-term people.

And this is something that I've definitely learned over the past five years of being essentially a full-time entrepreneur.

Regardless of what type of business you're wanting to start or run on your own, you need to be in this for the long game. If you think

that you're going to quit your full-time job and instantly replace your full-time income in a matter

of weeks or months, you're most likely going to be disappointed. I've dabbled in all sorts of entrepreneurial endeavors.
