Summary
Meditation using an affirmation to release anxiety. When you suffer from anxiety, you can feel hopeless, as thought you'll always remain in this *stuck* state. | 0:31.1 | especially if you experience extreme anxiety such as traumatic stress disorder. |
| 0:38.3 | And this is a disorder that affects many people in the world today. |
| 0:46.3 | And it's not just people who have been in conflict in a war or who have experienced some traumatic event in their life such as a |
| 0:58.0 | natural disaster or a horrible crime. Of course many people who've experienced those |
| 1:06.3 | situations suffer from PTSD but there are so many people who feel very traumatized by their lives, |
| 1:19.9 | by an environment where they feel unsafe or a relationship where they don't feel safe. |
| 1:28.5 | And so this high level of anxiety can cause you to not really connect with people in relationships out of fear |
| 1:42.1 | because you feel you have to protect yourself or where you feel |
| 1:48.0 | angry and you have outbursts the smallest thing can just really cause you to lose your |
| 1:57.5 | temper or to lash out and And you're not sure why. |
| 2:01.6 | You don't mean to do it, but you feel this stress, this feeling of anxiety that just won't |
| 2:11.6 | let up. |
| 2:12.6 | And this can cause you not to be sleeping well. It can interrupt your focus and concentration. |
| 2:22.3 | It can give you a wide range of health problems such as headaches, stomach aches, |
| 2:29.3 | and all kinds of aches and pains. |
| 2:32.3 | Inflammation in your body. You start to lose interest in activities |
| 2:37.0 | that normally you are excited about. You feel socially and emotionally detached because |
| 2:45.0 | you're trying to protect yourself and your energy is so scattered that you're just trying to preserve the energy you have. |
| 2:55.6 | So you don't have enough in you to give to other people like you would in a regular give-and-take relationship. |
| 3:06.6 | You can even develop amnesia for traumatic related events. |
