Just left the house, just saw something I have not seen in a long time on a walk of mine.

I'm leaving the neighborhood. It is dark. It is pre-sunrise.

And there was an animal that scooted across the road,

stopped, looked at me,

looked at me for just a little longer than I felt comfortable with.

I actually took a step backwards.

It was a raccoon, which is very cute in pictures

and in movies, but really not the kind of animal you want to encounter when they get their

backup. And I'm walking past a wooded area right now. And I think this was the direction

that raccoon was headed in. So I'm like somewhat distracted, looking into this undergrowth,

wooded area, listening to see if I hear anything.

And I'm just going to go with that raccoon was even more afraid of me than I was concerned with it.

Yeah, let's go with that.

We got some news earlier this week that Ava and I are really excited about.

Some dear friends of ours in Maryland, they've been talking about moving down to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for a long time.

In fact, they were talking about it before we even made the decision to move down here.

We thought that they would be the first ones down here. They weren't. There were some

situations that had to happen first. My friend had to retire. He was on the Baltimore County Police

Force. He had to retire first. And then his father was ill, and he's an only child, my friend.

So he stayed in Maryland to care for his father.

His father passed away last year.
