Summary

With the threat of COVID-19 and the importance of self quarantining, many of us find ourselves working from home in new and unusual ways. Maybe your office job has shifted to your home. Or your spouse is now working from home or your kids are doing school work from home. Since I have worked from home in various capacities, on and off, over the course of the last 10+ years, I thought I might share some things I have learned along the way. I hope they will be helpful to you in whatever way you are working at home these days.

1:20.7

disappointed in what Easter was looking like this year. I also had many moments where I was just

1:27.2

deeply grateful for the opportunity

1:29.9

to celebrate and commemorate and observe these holy days at home with my family. One thing that I want

1:37.8

to mention, because maybe you can keep it in mind for next year, and it's so simple to do,

1:42.9

is on Good Friday, we decided to just keep silence in our house

1:50.1

between the hours of 12 and 3. This is something I've heard about on and off through the years,

1:54.0

and we've done some form of this, you know, like no video games or movies or whatever on Good Friday,

1:59.9

but never quite so deliberately as this.

2:02.8

And when the kids were littler, it probably would have been a lot more challenging.

2:06.1

But now that the kids are older, it's easier to just say, hey, during these hours, we're not going to be, you know, chatting.
