Summary

Draft season is done. Now it’s about actually playing the game. In this episode, Jeff breaks down five things you can do to be a better fantasy football manager during the season. He talks about why overreacting to one week kills rosters, how to be smart (not reckless) on waivers, the right way to approach trades, how to make start/sit calls without second-guessing yourself into oblivion, and even what not to do on game day when you’re watching football. If you want to stop beating yourself and start beating your league, this one’s for you.

I'm done fantasy draft season. I don't want to hear about it. I don't want to grade your team. I'm kidding. I'm kidding about all that. But I'm done. Literally, it's over. It's week one. The rankings tool is populated. Initial set of rankings over at FtnFantasy.com. The waiver wire tool is populated with some waiver suggestions. Maybe you ran into like Tage Spears and you want to drop him. Well, I got some guys for you that are fairly widely available. Of course, some defenses to stream as well in the waiver wire tool. So go check all that out over at FtnFantasy.com. But as you can see from the title of this podcast, I kind of wanted to continue a little bit of what I was doing throughout draft season here as we're about to go into week one. I won't be able to do much of this once we get in season. This podcast is primarily like a news podcast to keep you up to speed. You want all the content, the written content. You get that at Ftnfantasy.com. And we don't do the stupid zany bits that we do on the radio

show. It's just straightforward, right? We get you the information so you're going to be a better

1:14.3

player on this podcast by we. I mean me, because I'm the only one here. But regardless, I wanted to

1:20.8

tie a bow on some of the sort of strategy ideas, game improvement kind of ideas that I've been hitting on with the podcast

throughout the offseason. So five things that you can do to play better fantasy football in season.

1:34.1

That's what we're doing here. And I wrote down a list. I mean, this is not a comprehensive list.

1:39.1

This is not the only five things. But as we've now started to shift gears and transition into in-season mode,

1:46.3

you know, like people, once they draft, they start to transition. You know, once the

1:50.8

rosters are in place, you can start tinkering with them as some people like to do. All of that

1:57.9

begins. And I've already started to see some of these things come into play.

2:01.9

Not all of them, but I did want to bring up some in particular that kind of immediately

2:07.1

happen.

2:08.3

And the first two items I wanted to talk about deal with overreacting.

2:13.1

It's a saying on the radio show where I'll say react, don't overreact.

2:20.2

But I do mean it. Fantasy football is full of overreactions. And I do get why that is. A lot of people who play this game
