So I'm in a series touching on some

core aspects of the eight marks of a healthy church culture. And so we've covered two already,

whether we slow down a healthy church culture and emotionally healthy church culture, first of all,

is a place where we're slowing down, we're building a community where people slow down to be with Jesus

out of which they do for him and for other people. So that's that first one. The second is that we

we follow Jesus in a beneath the surface discipleship through emotional honesty and the breaking

of unhealthy generational pattern. So we talked about that the last couple of podcasts.

And today we're going to dive into that our intentionality about building a safe,

human community that's marked by emotional safety, honesty, and relational integrity.

So today we're going to dive into this.

Now, Jesus walked into a religious system,

we'll call it a church system that was highly judgmental. In fact, the religious leaders were at

the top. There were all kinds of rules and boundaries about who was in and who was out. Again,

a highly judgmental context. It was not safe for those who were considered

unclean, like lepers, the blind, the broken, tax collectors, Romans, Samaritans, Gentiles. Jesus enters

into this context and he smashes it. And he creates a safety for a whole new community called the community of Jesus.

And so we see places like in Luke 7 where a sinful woman basically comes into this Pharisees

house when Jesus is having dinner and wipes his feet with her tears and washes them and dries them with her hair and she's just she's so

safe to be with jesus and again tax collector's sinners those who are outcasts felt extremely self-s
