Fertility fraud occurs when a doctor secretly uses their own sperm to impregnate their

patients. Jacoba Ballard is an advocate for victims of fertility fraud, survivors of assault,

and the donor conceived. Netflix's Our Father documents Jacoba's discovery

that she was born from fertility fraud. Jacoba's advocacy journey began in 2014 when she took

a genetic test in order to find out who her biological father was. She had no way of predicting

exactly what she would find out or the path that would

My mom wanted a child and that led them to a fertility doctor.

He said that he could help them.

Did testing on my mom and on him. That's when my parents chose to use

a donor. Back then in the late 70s, you didn't get to pick your donor. My parents were told he was

going to be a medical resident used and used no more than three times. He matched blood and fiscal characteristics to my dad.
