What is up epic gardeners? Kevin here again and today again we are with

Jared of Upcycle, the native soil fertilizer company and he's actually going to

drop some knowledge about fertilizer itself so we've talked about organic we've talked about organic, we've talked about

biosolids, and now we're going to talk about some interesting things that you may not

know about fertilizer in general, the fertilizer industry, how much of an environmental impact does it have upon other

parts of the world. And you know this is an area that I don't know a whole lot about and so I'm

thankful to have Jared here to drop some

knowledge on me and through me drop some knowledge on everyone else out there so I'm

So kind of talk about some really high level stuff with fertilizer.

Doesn't matter if it's organic or conventional synthetic fertilizers.

Fertilizers are sourced from around the world.

It's a global footprint of tens of thousands of miles that often started mines in fairly remote areas.

The raw materials, be it rock that's stripped out of the ground to make phosphate

or be it bat guano or any other types of bone meal

that goes into organic fertilizer,

are gathered around the world.

They're shipped across oceans.

They're brought to regional facilities

that render the materials,

blended together based on whatever type of nutrient blend,
