Summary

So when I was younger I apparently had ADHD, and was sensitive to bright light (which tbf I still am, love a dim room lit by a fire, the bright light of a squash court freaks me out). So I get asked a lot about what I did to solve my ADHD and for me that had to be tied into a bigger conversation around diet, procrastination, social media and why we do the things we do. I'm just one guy with one experience, so take from this podcast what you wish, but I think, whether you feel you suffer with ADHD, poor concentration or motivation, this podcast will give you some perspective.

Hey everyone Benkuma Radio how an earth are you doing so I got a question on

0:07.4

social media the other day about my ADHD when I was a kid or in my teenage years as well I actually got assessed at

0:16.2

university and they were like yeah ADHD light spectrum sensitivity or something like that and yeah that was kind of a bit of the

0:26.7

diagnosis and I kind of went through various steps to say do you know what I'm gonna try and

0:32.1

look at this for my nutrition I'm going to sort of

0:35.4

make sure that I'm focused and do what I can with managing it and the university helped me

0:41.6

out with some bits of software and all of that kind of stuff.

0:44.8

But I just want to go over a couple of points that I think has really helped me kind of manage

0:50.9

my own mindset and that will link to procrastination and technology and stuff

0:56.6

like that.

0:57.6

So first and foremost I want to come back to the point when we kind of discuss our health and we say look there's something happening in my health right now what can I do about it and quite often we'll look at real specific solutions to the specific or proposed specific problem.

1:17.0

And the only issue with that is you can run around chasing your tail because there's other things affecting it. So whether someone has a

1:24.8

issue with the brain, the skin, an organ like anything, I would always look

1:31.8

at optimizing health. So if someone had ADHD or eczma or

1:36.6

I. V. S or anything I would want to say how are you sleeping how are you eating are

1:42.0

you exercising are you well hydrated? Because, and I know I've

1:45.8

been over this a lot, it's really hard to improve your health on a specific level when on a general

1:52.0

level you're not doing the right kind of stuff.

1:54.8

And the good thing is about doing this is once you whittle down some of the things that are going

1:59.8

on, it's a lot easier to kind of target a potential solution and way forward.

2:05.6

So I really want you to kind of take that, you know, under your own steam and really buy into that because it's very hard for me as a practitioner to work with you

2:17.2

to look at something specific when there is a lot happening generally.
