| 0:07.6 | imagine yourself in a certain setting. Imagine yourself out in some rolling hill country. They're beautiful |
| 0:16.5 | lush green hills and you can see the crevices between the hills where water runs whenever there's a downpour of rain. |
| 0:26.0 | And you look overhead and you see the dark clouds are looming. |
| 0:30.0 | Heavy rain clouds are amassing overhead. The wind is blowing, it's feeling cooler, you can tell, |
| 0:38.0 | it's probably time for one of those downpours to come. |
| 0:42.0 | And you step aside under a big for one of those downpours to come. |
| 0:43.2 | And you step aside under a big oak tree |
| 0:45.9 | and you wait and you watch and with a clap of thunder, |
| 0:50.4 | a downpour begins. What happens to all that water as it |
| 0:56.7 | pours down through the branches of the trees? You feel some of it |
| 1:01.2 | landing on your head, but much more of it is landing out there in the open fields. |
| 1:07.0 | And what happens to it? It flows down the hillside. It flows into those crevices that you saw between the hills, and it floods its way down, |
| 1:17.3 | it washes its way down into a riverbed, and eventually perhaps into a river. |
| 1:24.6 | You've just noticed something about the way nature works. |
| 1:29.2 | That is a reflection and illustration of how God works in the lives of his people. |
| 1:36.0 | In the book Humility Andrew Murray writes this, |
| 1:40.0 | Just as water ever seeks and fills the lowest place. |
| 1:46.0 | So the moment God finds the creature abased and empty, |
| 1:51.0 | His glory and power flow in. and Just like gravity forces water to the lowest place and it fills up that lake or the lake bed. |
| 2:11.0 | God's power and God himself comes and fills those who are lowly, those who have emptied themselves of self. |
