Welcome back to the morning mindset. I am so glad you're here. My name is Carrie Green and we are going to dive right in talking about this issue of humility that we've been covering in the last set of episodes.

And I want to stop for a moment in our progression through the book humility by Andrew Murray

and just acknowledge something.

I want to acknowledge that this topic and the things

that we're speaking about can be very very difficult to swallow at times. There are times in life, my wife and I were just talking

about this reality a few days ago, there are times in life when the effort in the struggle that we've been engaged in to live an obedient life to Christ are exhausting.

We are weary, we are spent, we are every day fighting any number of things, negative

thoughts, criticisms, feelings of doubt, feelings of criticisms of

condemnation and sin and temptation all kinds of things and that struggle is very real. And so when you hear someone like me on a five

minute little audio blurb every morning saying we need to be nothing so that God can be everything.

It's easy to feel a little cynical about that.

It's easy to kind of nod your head and say,

yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I know it, I know it, I know it, it I know it but it's easier said than

done my friends I understand that oh my goodness do I understand that these things

we're talking about are not easy things to pull off.

And I want to stop this episode and kind of take a breather, so why don't you join me, take a deep breath,

and let's just admit to ourselves.

This thing we call the Christian life can be very hard.

There are difficulties that come our way that are hard to endure much less overcome.

Can I get an amen on that?

And none of what I've been sharing is meant to be a trite or pat answer.

But nevertheless it is the answer.
