Hi, my name's Sarah and this is the Squiggly Careers podcast.

0:07.1

This week is one of our Ask the Expert episodes and you'll hear me in conversation with Sir Andrew

0:13.5

Likeman talking about judgment. I always think judgment is a fascinating topic. Is it a skill?

0:20.0

Is it a quality? How do we get better at it? It can

0:23.2

sometimes feel a bit elusive. How do you get better at reading the room, the Zoom, the team's meeting,

0:28.4

whatever it might be? And I think Andrew has some really practical reflections and ideas that I hope

0:33.4

you're all going to find useful. So I hope you enjoy listening and be back at the end to say

0:37.7

bye.

0:40.3

Andrew, thank you so much for joining us on the Squiggly Careers podcast. I'm really looking forward to our

0:44.7

conversation today. Well, thanks so much for inviting me. And we're going to dive straight into

0:48.7

0:58.0

1:08.1

1:12.5

And that's exactly why I wrote this book, because I thought to myself,

1:17.8

here's something that's really important and people value and they say they want. And yet,

1:22.3

we don't quite know what it is. So that's the basis of the work. So to answer your question,

1:31.0

is it a quality or a skill? It's a bit of both. It's a quality because it's something which we as individuals have,

1:35.6

which combine a number of factors within ourselves that we have to use when exercising it.

1:38.9

And so is it a skill as well?
