The friendship in that case raised the bar, but interestingly, I think there's another way to say that it like lowers the bar because of the, if you're not expecting everything from one person, you don't need to have all the same hobbies and complementary skill sets on every single thing.

And so what it, you know, in my mind, what these sorts of friendships can do for romantic relationships is make people's

criteria more precise to figure out what really matters because what are you already

getting in the close relationships in your life or the communities that you're part of and what do you really want in this particular person or persons that you can not just like expect every single box whether or not you actually need it to be
