Good morning my friends and welcome back. It is time for the morning mindset. I am

Carrie Green. I welcome you if you're listening for the first time. I have been

walking through some thoughts based on a book

that I read once at least every year. It's called humility by the author Andrew

Murray and the second chapter is a chapter called

humility the secret of redemption and when he says redemption he's talking about

the redemption of Christ.

And I know for myself I don't often think of the Redemption and humility as going together.

I think of Redemption as God's plan to save me, which it is. I think of the redemption as

God's way of coming into my life in a new and gracious way to redeem me from the consequences of my sin sometimes but definitely from my

sin itself and it is that I think of the redemption as the means by which God gives me his power to live day today and indeed

it is that you've heard that a lot of the morning mindset in previous episodes but I

don't tend to think of the redemption in light of this idea of

humility. And Andrew is saying that because Jesus Christ embodied humility in coming to the earth, that the redemption is really all

about the restoration of humility to the earth and in particular to mankind, you and me.

You've heard the saying, Pride comes before a fall. Well the biblical picture is that pride did indeed come

before the fall. Pride came before humanity fell into sin. It came first of all to Lucifer who we know as

Satan a fallen angel who fell because of his pride. We read in scripture that he was exulting himself.

He wanted to become like God.

He wanted to be the most high.

And so in his pride, he rebelled against God. And then he came to Earth and began to

wreak havoc on God's creation once God created human beings. And he did that by whispering so softly so carefully a
