Welcome to Motivation Monday, where every Monday we answer all of your questions and have some real talks about life & fitness & get you fired up for the week! In this episode we talk about the creatine side effects, how to bring passion back for training, and become more comfortable at the gym.
Time Stamps:
(0:00) - Intro
(0:40) - Youtube Quote- "In the depths of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer." -Philosopher and author Albert Camus on resilience (Shared by Jeremy)
(1:55) - Josh quote: “Scarcity of self awareness.”
Being self aware, by being honest. Accountability mirror, don’t beat yourself up about it, do something about it. What’s holding you back? You should never have failures, loses are the most powerful lessons.
(3:45) - Kyle quote: “Fail to prepare, prepare to fail”
(5:15) - What has us excited or intrigued
(9:00) - Client shoutout: Past 60 day challenge participants
(12:55) - Question 1- What are the side effects of creatine?
1.a I haven’t been able sleep when taking creatine has anyone else experienced this? Diarrhea and nausea can occur when too much creatine is taken at one time, in which case the doses should be spread out throughout the day and taken with meals. Creatine supplementation typically results in weight gain, partly due to an increase in total body water
1.b - Does creatine cause hairloss? It's plausible, but unlikely. One RCT linked creatine supplementation to an increase in DHT (an androgen involved in hair loss) but this RCT has never been replicated.
1.c - Is creatine bad for your kidneys? In people with healthy kidneys, long-term creatine supplementation is safe, but there are no long-term creatine studies in people with kidney issues. For these people, using a low dose of creatine (if any) would be prudent.
(20:05) - Question 2- Have you done already done a podcast where you give tips on what to do when you’ve lost your passion for training?
(25:05) - Question 3- No matter what I do, I can’t seem to get past the point of feeling uncomfortable in the gym. I feel like people are always either looking at me, or I see people filming, etc and I can’t get past this stage. Any tips or tricks?

Thanks for listening! We genuinely appreciate every single one of you listening.

And now we're going to jump into my quote, which I actually pulled from a new Jeezzy song I heard. and just really made me think. And he said that there's a scarcity of self-awareness right now. And I just had to take a pause because I was like, wow, that's just amazing. And right now I feel like people, there's a lot of a mirage of self-awareness. There's a lot of self-love, which I think is absolutely fantastic. but I think sometimes that needs to be balanced by saying, what are my weaknesses? Where am I failing? David Goggins loves the point of an accountability mirror. And he said, it may be hard to hear if someone says, you're overweight and you need to lose weight and they may be bullying you. It may be not appropriate for them to say, but you need to say to yourself,
