All right, so talking shelters, Steve, is a big topic. And before we dive into specifics, I was thinking, it would be good just to think from a high level first before we get into

free standing versus not or this material versus that or this style versus another, what are the big picture factors

that drive shelter choice? And to kick that off, like I think one of them just flat out is the hunt style, the hunt strategy.

So how does the logistics, the plan, the strategy of a hunt affect shelter choice, at least for you personally as an example.

Well you certainly need to identify the style at which you're going to be hunting.

Are you packing up camp every single day and taking it with you or how I started

backpacking hike in two, three, four miles, find a nice little green meadow, great camp spot, and set up a camp and hunt from there.

In that scenario, it's shelter choice, you know, you don't, you can get away with a lot of different things. You can select a camp spot that is, you know, out of the wind, underneath trees, you know, very protected. And so really, I mean, I know I've said this a bunch on the

podcast before you, you could probably go to Walmart and buy a tent and get by just fine in the lower 48 I would say right where

Alaska is kind of its own separate beast but in that yeah in that, yeah, in that scenario, and even whether that tent is 2.5 pounds or 4.5 pounds,
