Meghan Markle's interview has exposed the institution of monarchy for what it is,

shadowy, unaccountable, riddled with racism and intolerant of anyone who crosses them.

The first woman of colour to marry within the royal family received widespread media vilification.

Headlines were damn Meghan for doing the same things they praised Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge her doing.

But the royal family failed to protect her, including on one occasion when media coverage claimed that Meghan had made Kate cry,

when in fact it was either way round.

This was, says Meghan, the beginning of a real character assassination.

The monarchy actively briefed against Meghan, including to protect other royal members.

One of their leading members expressed their concerns repeatedly about how dark the skin of Meghan and Harry's child was.

She strongly implies that their child will not be given a royal title with all the security that brings,

unlike the children of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, because of the colour of his skin.

When Meghan felt driven to the brink of suicide while pregnant because of an atmosphere of racist hostility,

they failed to support her.

What does it say about an institution which drives a woman to consider ending her life

because of the colour of her skin, which pursues a relentless vendetta against her?

While Prince Andrew, a royal with close links to one of the most notorious pedophiles on earth,

is protected and treasured by the royal family.

Protection for allies of pedophiles, not women of colour, targeted by racism.

Accurations of bullying should of course be taken seriously.

But what does it say about the monarchy that such claims against Meghan were also conveniently released days before the interview,

which was going to cause so much trouble for the palace, prompting them to launch an inquiry?

Where is the inquiry into her claims of racism?
