| 1:17.4 | British media is an objective fact. It's not a fact we can often discuss as a fact, largely because |
| 1:25.4 | the boundaries of political conversation are defined in this country by the media itself, |
| 1:31.1 | which is not exactly willing to discuss its own racism and bigotry in an honest fashion. |
| 1:39.4 | And that's why we have to have this discussion because there are actually few platforms |
| 1:44.1 | where that conversation can take place. And given the media we are told is a pillar of any healthy |
| 1:50.6 | democracy. The fact that we're not having this conversation, given the way we look at the world, |
| 1:55.6 | is often transmitted through the eyes and filtered through that media, this is a critical |
| 2:02.5 | discussion for the very basis of our democracy. Now a society which hasn't come to terms with its |
| 2:07.4 | racist history of colonialism and slavery has certainly not begun to come to terms with its racist |
