Hi guys, it's Rach, and this is a quick word on chaos.

I guess it's not even really chaos, guys.

It's just life.

But I wanted to come on today and speak specifically to those of you who find yourself in a season

where it just feels like a shichou.

We are all going to have those moments, but when we're in them, we feel like we're the only ones.

If you've ever been to see me speak live, whether it's at a conference or you've come to podcast tour

or you've seen me do a keynote, then you may remember this moment that happens in almost every talk I've ever given,

which is inevitably someone in the audience will raise their hand and ask a question.

And they reveal always some kind of story or truth that is really vulnerable and really hard to admit.

And I can tell that they feel this moment of like embarrassment or even shame that they've just told us the truth about what they're struggling with.

And so I ask the rest of the room if they will hold space.

I ask the rest of the room whether it's 100 people or 5000.

If they are walking through something similar or who have walked through something similar, would they just raise their hand.

And usually a large portion of the audience raises their hand and then I'll say to the person who asked the question,

I'm like, hey, just real quick, turn around and look at the room.

Look at the room and understand that you are not alone in this because that is what the negative self talk will tell us.

That voice in the back of your mind loves to tell you that the reason life is hard is because you're not good enough.

No, the reason life is hard is because life is hard. It is.

You know, back in, I think it's 2010 was when social media officially came on to the scene.

And they found that in the, you know, 12, 13 years almost since then that we've seen this dramatic increase in anxiety,

a dramatic increase in depression, suicide rates amongst teenagers, especially and especially amongst teenage girls has risen dramatically.
