Summary

You've probably heard us talk about the concept of "facts tell but stories sell" and one of the most effective ways to tell stories, especially in our short form world, are analogies. Analogies allow individuals to connect the dots in a way they understand instead of you talking over their head with a bunch of bullshit science words (I used to do that too). Listen in as I share a bunch of examples, why having a method for your coaching is key, and, at the end, I'll share with you a few of my favorite analogies.

What I call this is the

0:21.1

Netflix marketing effect, which is essentially how to use analogies in your content to ultimately

0:26.1

allow you to gain clients, get more followers, and as a bonus, help coach your clients more

0:31.4

effectively, right? Because if we can tell, if we can communicate something with an analogy,

0:36.8

we as humans can really conceptualize and understand it. If we can understand something with an analogy, we as humans can really conceptualize

0:39.0

and understand it. If we can understand something, we're so much more likely to remember it,

to take an action from it, and to just simply be like, oh shit, that made sense, right?

0:47.1

You want to have that, ah, aha, that epiphany kind of feeling, right? You want to create an epiphany.

0:53.4

And so how do we create epiphanies?

0:55.2

Well, a lot of that has to do with like visual storytelling. An analogy is create this vivid mental

image that can enhance your understanding of these things, right? So I know for me, I used to be

1:05.9

really bad about creating too overcomplicated content, right? Two sciencey jargony shit.

1:12.4

And that stuff has its place. You can still do those things if you enjoy it, but you don't have to. Because a lot of

1:17.0

times we create too jargony shit because we're afraid of looking dumb online. Or it's like,

1:21.1

I don't want to be judged or I want to impress my peers versus trying to speak to the client that I'm trying to attract. So think about it like this, you're scrolling through social media and you come across
