Welcome to the happiness podcast. I'm Dr. Robert Puff. Haven't we all seen a read about the romance where two people meet. They fall in love and they

live happily ever after? And that's how the story ends. But then if there's a sequel, there seems to be problems,

there seems to be troubles,

and the relationship isn't going as well as it used to.

Why does that happen?

When I was younger, I did a lot of backpacking and hiking,

and I was in pretty good shape.

So I decided I was going to try and climb the highest mountain in continental United States is called

Mount Whitney.

I had planned it with some friends and we decided to meet at the parking lot of the bottom

of Mount Whitney.

Well that day we hiked up to what would be

considered the base camp and we spent the night there. We had dinner and we slept in

our tents and then in the morning we took off though we were able to leave our tents there because we were going to come back there that night and sleep.

So the next day, when we're climbing up this ice pack one step at a time I would literally take three

steps and be completely out of breath and what I didn't realize is the altitude

was beginning to get to me so though I could recover after each time I lost my breath, I would completely

lose my breath again after three more steps. It was a long grueling day, but we made it to the

top and then we came back and I think we got back to our base camp around 10 p.m.

We had course decided that we're going to spend the night there because it was a long day.

But I decided because of the altitude that I was going to head down to my car and even though it was late even though I was exhausted and even though it was nighttime I made it to my car and then the craziest thing I did is I actually drove all the way home after
