Here's what actually shifts when you become a dad and keep running a business.

In 2019, when I had my first son, Ryan, I thought I'd have less time. And I do.

But weirdly, I've never been more productive, focused, or intentional with my business since

becoming a dad. If you're a parent and you already

have kids, you're going to resonate with this. But if you don't have kids yet or you're getting

ready for your first soon, you're going to experience a shock to your system. The first 90 days of

your first kid is total chaos. No amount of books, reading, or parenting classes can

prepare you for the sleep deprivation, emotional roller coasters, and complete disregard for your

daily schedule. That's coming for you. You'll realize very quickly that your free time is no

longer your free time. And when it comes to running your

business, you'll learn to let go of perfection fast. Done is better than perfect. stops being a

quote and starts to become your survival. You'll have to make tactical shifts in the way

you operate. You'll cut unnecessary meetings, fluff projects, and remove distractions.

Before kids, you thought you were busy.

After having kids, you realized that you were just scattered.

Once you start to have kids, you will get ruthless with delegating, time blocking, and say no to, quote, good ideas. I would go as

far as to say that one focused hour as a dad beats five distracted ones as a bachelor. You can't

afford to waste time anymore. And you have to build a business that doesn't need you constantly.

Because now you have other tiny humans that do.
