As always, it's your coach and host Josh here with. His co-host and co-coach, KG, and I'm on the microphone. And, you know, we find one of the best ways to understand something and to improve is to reverse engineer it. So instead of talking about, you know, eight of the things you need to be doing, We're going to be telling you about eight of the worst fitness mistakes you're probably doing that you need to avoid. But don't worry, we're going to show you how to do it. But before we jump in today's episode, we're really going to be talking about the big mistakes that are holding you back. So we're not necessarily just going to go into the small tiny things. And we're not saying those tiny things don't make a difference because they can add up, right? Think compound effect. If you're not necessarily just going to go into the small tiny things. And we're not saying those tiny things don't make a difference because they can add up. Right. Think compound effect. If you're doing even the smallest thing each day, like you know, you're throwing away a dollar every single day. You don't think much of it. End of the year, that's $365. 10 years. You know, it's $3,650. And these small things are similar to that, that right things like going a little bit over your calories not being 100% accurate with your logging like not recording snacks or cream

1:34.2

and coffee or sips and bites and licks using two little weights on exercise it's not challenging yourself

1:39.6

you know missing your protein for the day not timing rest or having perfect rest times.

1:46.0

These things are super important.

1:47.0

Don't neglect them. But we just kind of wanted to focus on the big thematic problems you're probably having

1:51.5

in your journey that are holding you back.

1:53.6

So what's number one, Kyle?

1:55.1

Yeah, number one is just always dieting.

1:57.3

And I think so often people get into mindset that, you know, you want to lose 50 50 pounds you want to lose like whatever amount of weight that is that you're striving for so you're like I'm going to be dieting until I get there this is a huge common mistake right you know some people look and be like oh what's what's the worst that can happen but in terms of just long term effects there's so many different downsides you don't really give yourself once again it It depends on your situation and how much you have to lose and how low your calories are but i will say like one of the greatest things you can do is just spend time in a maintenance or a muscle gain phase you know the other day i was sharing on instagram that i'm doing a lean gain phase you know there's so many benefits it's allowing me to start to gain some more strength back, start to build some more muscles,

2:34.7

start to reset, you know, the hormones, the metabolism and stuff like that. And I think where a lot of people don't realize is that when they're always in a deficit, they're always eating less, it has a lot of negative effects that could affect just your future, right? You know, and just even the progress that you can make. A lot of times people don't spend time going through reverse diet phase afterwards,

2:51.6

which allows you to replenish all these things.

2:53.3

And that's why we always have a clear game plan for every single client who's like, hey, I want to lose this much weight. You know, and even depends if someone has 50 pounds to lose. We might focus on the first 25, take a bit of a pause, reset everything, you know, spend a bit of time just replenishing and doing all the things that we do on the coaching side. And then we're like, okay, let's get that next 25. Once again, very situational, but I will say I see so many people, you know, just dieting, dieting, dieting, dieting, and they just don't allow themselves to go into the phases that actually allow them to, even like when it comes to, you know, helping your metabolism and stuff, increasing your calories and being at that point where your replenition, everything will allow you to just be able to, next time you go through that dieting phase, be able to eat more, be able to have more, you know, when you have more muscle, you're able to actually eat more, which is really cool. Obviously, lots to talk about there. But once again, avoid just always dieting. And that's going to be one of the biggest mistakes I see very, very often.
