I love learning about symbolism and the Bible, about just how simple, ordinary things that God is created, he infused with deep meaning and

reminders of his character. A few examples might be vines, branches, living water. We talk a lot about

the relationship of marriage and sexuality is something that reveals who God is. But today we're

going to talk about bread, the significance of

bread. Now, bread is perhaps one of the most common items on our dinner tables, but in the gospel,

we see Jesus take bread, bless it, break it, and give it. And it makes us ask the question,

what would it look like to allow our lives to be blessed, broken, and given by Jesus?

You know, communion is one of the simplest and most sacred reminders of our covenant relationship with the Lord Jesus.

Yet rarely do we spend time thinking about its significance to the Christian life.

And that's where we're going to go today with my guest, Glenn Packiam.

He is the pastor of New Life Church in downtown Colorado Springs and the author of several

books, including the one you'll hear me talk about today, blessed, broken and given,

how your story becomes sacred in the hands of Jesus.

Glenn, I know you by reputation because we've lived in the same town for a while when I was here in Colorado Springs.

And I heard about you from so many people that would talk about the impact of your teaching and just honestly, what a great guy you are.

So it's wonderful to meet you in person.

You too, Julie. And likewise, I know of you for your reputation, your work. I'm so grateful for all that you're doing. And it's great to talk to you today. Yeah. Well, you have a number of books that you've authored. And I picked one that we can talk about today. And when I first heard the title, Blessed, Broken, and Given, I'm like, I can't imagine that there's much there.
