Abraham chooses to believe God in spite of his circumstances.

Folks, that's right where we are.

We're going to have to believe that God is greater than elections and God is greater than politicians and God is greater than foreign actors and God is greater than economic turmoil and God is greater than an open border and God is greater than propaganda and

God is greater than deception. We're going to have to believe that.

I want to start a new series with you

under this theme of a determined faith.

Because I spent some time thinking about that and that really was the best

capsule of what is in my heart is I'm looking at our world and looking at the people

of God. I've been in multiple cities in the last few months and talked to church leaders

across all those settings and I've listened to people that are providing leadership in the

Christian communities in those settings and it seems to me what is being asked of us today is for a determined faith.

We've had some other kinds of faith that I'm not...

We don't need to describe them. I don't want to be critical.

But if we're going to

walk forward, it's going to be a more determined faith than we have held in the past.
